About the team
Welcome to the home of the VSA Heat '97 Boys Blue!
The Heat is a dedicated, year-round U-13 Premier Boys team sanctioned by the Virginia Soccer Association (VSA). Our home field is James S. Long Park in Haymarket, Virginia, in beautiful Western Prince William County - with brand-new artificial turf fields! We compete in Division 1 of the National Capital Soccer League (NCSL) and also successfully participate in numerous soccer tournaments both locally and out of state (MD, PA, NC, OH). The Heat's fantastic and enthusiastic coaching team is former professional player Dave Spofford and Tony Rogers. Coach Spofford is a graduate of Yale University (1988) where he was honorable mention 'All Ivy League' and leading scorer his senior year. In 1990, he signed with the APSL Washington Stars under Coach John Kerr, Sr.
